Cooks and Kitchen Hands Needed.
Every month, volunteers, sponsored by the Phillip Island Inter Church Council, come to the Parish Hall kitchen for a big ‘cook up’ of soups and casseroles for the ‘PICAL Pantry’. People who are in need of help in the Phillip Island community regularly call at PICAL for assistance with groceries. And if needed, frozen soup and casseroles are also available. The prepared frozen food is stored in the ICC freezer at the Parish Hall.
The ICC cooking team is in need of extra pairs of hands to give general help with food preparation. The cooking team meets once a month for a morning’s big ‘cook up’. The choice of which morning is fairly flexible. If you have time to give, please contact Lesley Oakley on 5952 5270 or me, 5952 2557.
St A’s Local Outreach
St Augustine’s is going quite well. But we have had a sad time with the passing of Mardi Horan; a wonderful lady and a great supporter of our Church. We will miss her very much.
The signs we have had made have prompted a lot of comments from passers by. They and the article in the Advertiser have been a great success. We have a lot of people who just like to have a talk. Some of them are in need of this and really appreciate the friendly ear to listen.
Our Soup and Sandwich Lunches are going well too — we had a full table last time and will set up more space for next time. We celebrated with a Birthday Cake for Ted (see above), one of our regular men. It is great to have George back and going really well after his Illness.
Make sure you put our October Fete in your diary starts at 9am. We’ll have all the usual Craft, cakes, jam, mystery parcels and Trash & Treasure
